That is an excellent point Beth. The concept of sexual identity has evolved quite a bit since Sophie was practicing also. I was watching Real Time with Bill Maher about a month ago where he was showing a graph on the percent of the US population that identified as other than heterol-sexual by decades from the 1940's onward. I can't recall exactly but I think it was something like 30% consider themselves as other now. And as kind of a joke he said if you follow the curve upward by 2050 almost everyone will identify as other.
I doubt that is going to happen but you never know.
