You might check your language settings on your device and see if one has been added in. Even if you don't have it as a primary, those foreign QWERTY keyboards could give you grief. I once bought a smartphone in a Spanish speaking country and (among other things) logged into Facebook with it. For three years (long after I had switched phones), Facebook would automatically translate any foreign language posts... into Spanish. Got good at reading it!

Definitely check language settings. Restart your device for sure. If it's intermittent (you mentioned under 5s), my first question would be age of the device and any other glitches you might be having. If they're becoming more than a minor inconvenience, you might look at another device if you can. Otherwise, reboot on the regular.

I did electronics for 5 years (particularly phones and tablets). I really enjoyed the job. Fun for me, useful for them.
