Being put down is not okay. Have you appealed? I assume you mean you were some how sanctioned. If you mean harassed, you should seek proper remedy. Thinking you are better is probably because you probably are. What about your job makes it so that you have to immediately leave it? If you can't provide an answer, you should rethink your rational. It is very common to get "sewered" which means to get a negative attitude. This causes feeling that something dreadful is going to happen when all it really is is politics. Has something changed about your job?
Being somewhere for a longtime, from the employer's viewpoint, means you are more valuable. They don't always remember that but definitely rely on it. Maybe you are just feeling empathy for their perspective and need to remind them somehow of your worth? If it is a harassment issue then a labor lawyer would be who you might consult.
