Yes, Elvis was definitely my sisters' generation, but of course I was entirely aware of his influence on music while I was growing up. I was 14 when he died, I was with friends when the news came over the car radio. It was a hot-as-hell August day. I think his was the first celebrity death that I was actually aware of and shocked by. But it was Michael Jackson who was really my generation.
