My nephew is in the psych hospital again. I don't think ECT is the solution again, or at least not alone. Yes, maybe he does need medication adjustments, but after 30 something years I am encouraging my sister to get him housing with support for his autism spectrum.

Away from the verbal abuse he has endured his whole life. As did my late nephew. A factor that surely played a part in both men's sicknesses. I can only guess how much and think it was exceedingly much. I do know some of the words said (or yelled). My late nephew told me some months before he decided to depart. It's painful wishing I could/should have done more. As the character Brick said in the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "How does one drowning man [or woman] help another drowning man [woman]?" at such a time.

Yes a person’s own living space helps immensely. I know having my own apartment was crucial to healing.
