Definitely wise. & lessons are good because there is always some new tip they can teach you in each lesson. I have helped with 4-H & trail riding here & the kids that had never ridden or had lessons were the ones we had to watch the closest cause just giving a few tips before someone gets on a horse & rides off on a trail is is dangerous for the person & the horse. Lessons are good.
