Okay, I have to answer my own question!

I was involved with a blues concert series. I was friends with the promoter, attended as many shows as I could, even acted as a roadie and/or bouncer when I was needed. My friend chose his acts well as some of them became internationally known. Joe Bonamassa and Joanne Shaw Taylor are two I met on a few occasions.
