My friend chose his acts well as some of them became internationally known. Joe Bonamassa and Joanne Shaw Taylor are two I met on a few occasions.

I'll throw my question back out there:
Have you ever met anyone famous? If not, who would you like to meet?
Sort of meeting, I'll say Steve Carell of the show "The Office". He gave us directions to a cafe. Nice guy. We met him while getting gas at a gas station in New York state. Also Ralph Nadar who gave a talk at my high school alma mater and signed his book for us. Hubby also talked to him on the phone. I have more formally met a handful of Czech celebrities that no one here would likely know. I also met some classical musicians many here likely wouldn't know. For example, Anne-Sophie Mutter. My husband knew Ethan Hawke fairly well. He lived in the same town as a teen and my husband led a youth group that included him. Hubby said that he told him that he shouldn't count on becoming a famous actor, even though Ethan had already starred in a movie and soon after "Dead Poets Society". He's been nominated for four Academy awards and other distinctions since. Boy was Hubby wrong!

I've seen many other celebrities, but not really met them. An extremely big named person took their S.O. to my old psychiatrist's office. That person walked by and looked right at me, probably upset that someone saw them. I can't say who for obvious reasons.

Any predictions you were wrong about?
