They are still there, MANY of them also. But most have been dormant for years. I miss them and prefer them to the forums. Members could create their own groups and forums, and even have a private group. (Not sure if that's still an option but it was when I was active in them)

Groups without forums of their own were moderately active but once a forum was created, the group "died" and nobody posted in it anymore.

I remember when it was newly introduced and I thought it a great idea....Back then you couldn't get notifications of new activity, you had to check manually.
NOW you can but for some reason I can't fathom, activity never picked up again.
