The "less safe" makes sense--because you're alone in your crying. I feel there can be a comfort of having someone there with you when you cry. Maybe it's a bit different if they're the reason you're crying (like the start of today's session). Still, I think I'd have been comforted on some level by Dr. T's physical presence, full body language, etc.
I was teary a bit in the beginning today, then a tiny bit at the end.
