SD, I will say that what we see in the public school k-12 is that students are easily two years below normal development and academic stages due to the pandemic years. They are a hot mess. I’m guessing colleges are seeing the same. It is going to take years for us to hopefully see kids back on track. I honestly don’t know if those that were affected by the pandemic will quite get there at all. I spent a great deal of my teaching time simply on showing students how to do school again. They have become hyper focused on their phones (like in a dysfunctional addictive way we haven’t seen before). They have no social skills. No coping skills. Very volatile. Not every student is that far off, but those that are are seriously delayed.
