HI @Bigkarl - welcome to MSF My Support Forums. Sorry your relationship ended but it may be worth patting yourself on the back that you stayed together as long as you did and helped and are helping to raise children. That is not easy in this world the way it is.

I think for me the most important thing is getting a stable routine. Exercising and practicing mindfulness help me to stay grounded. My diet has a big effect on my mood. I try to cook 4-5 meals at once and keep in refrigerator and or freezer for easy reheating. I just do not have time or motivation to cook every meal individually. I avoid sugar and intoxicants because they make my mood swings worse.

I have joined online communities and avoided dating sites trying to make friends rather than romance. Socializing is not easy but online socializing seems the easier of the two.

I try to live within my means financially and save as much as I can either for emergency expenses and retirement if I have enough for that. It is interesting that a 401K or IRA often reduces my tax bill so my take home pay is not radically different even if I save a fair amount. It is worth asking about that and how it would affect withholding and your pay check.

Go easy on yourself. Everyone thinks things might have worked out better "if only I had done ____________" That is usually the inner critic talking. I try to avoid the blame game.

Hope you get the support you are looking for and post in other threads and forums. Sometimes one forum does not get the same response as other ones. @CANDC
