So, I went back to work at my old pharmacy in January of this year— in May, I was promoted to a lead technician position. Recently, things have become intolerable there. I know this sounds really petty, but it really bothers me that my name and picture are still not up on the board with everyone else’s after almost seven months of returning there and close to three months after my promotion. Am I a member of the team or not? Also, it really bothers me that the shift before mine leaves a **** ton of work for me to do EVERY DAY. I recognize that they are understaffed and that they do a bunch of things we don’t do on my shift. But we are also understaffed on my shift and I really get the impression that they just have the mindset of leaving all their crap for my shift to catch up on. We are getting more work all the time and I am really getting burnt out. Add to that the fact that I am in pain all the time because my foot arches have collapsed and I spend 8 hours standing and rushing about on hard concrete. I’m getting custom-made insoles per an orthopedist’s prescription, but the earliest the prosthetics pharmacy could schedule me for a preliminary fitting was early October. For the PRELIMINARY fitting. I’m wearing store-bought insoles right now to tide me over, but I’m still limping by the time I finish my shift. I feel under appreciated by management and unwanted by my supervisor, who wanted his girlfriend to get my position (this is common knowledge throughout the pharmacy). I am seriously debating whether or not to stick it out or to simply cut the cord for good and find a position elsewhere. I am just at my wits’ end and dread going in every day. Last week I had a major breakdown during my shift. It was awful— i just couldn’t cope that day. Management seriously is running that place into the ground and I am sorely tempted to just abandon the sinking ship.
