Owls are usually night birds.Once I came across with an owl in my own back yard.I stepped out to do some chores and lo and behold it was there.It was very big and really pretty. I stopped in my tracks and it stared at me with his big eyes. I thought it looked different from a regular owl somehow.From the ones we see in picture books.It was a staring competition with it.It looked like a garden ornament except he was moving his neck once in a while.After a while I thought I should get my camera and went inside .When I went back it's gone.I discussed it with a person who knows a thing or two about owls and gave a good description of how it looked like.He said it was a rare variety that usually is not seen in broad daylight and usually stays in deep woods.I feel blessed that I actually saw one.
