If the kids are adults and don’t live at home, then I don’t think it would make a difference in devotion to one’s job. In general I don’t think not having kids makes one more devoted to clients/patients/customers etc or any job for that matter. One might be a caregiver for elderly parent or have other very consuming things in life.
