I feel your pain about the storms.
When I was in my teenage years I would fear any dark clouds and would constantly watch the weather channel. This would lead to hyperventilation and a sense of not being in my own body, I believe this was when I first started to have panic attacks. I eventually got over it by making myself watch storms develop from beginning to end. After a few storms my anxiety turned to fascination.
Today storms are one of the few things that makes me extremely calm.
Just remember, all storms pass.
