The temperature is a miraculous 91 degrees today. I actually feel the tiniest bit chilly! My body is so accustomed to that extreme heat. We have a fair amount of smoke from the closest wildfire, but no ash so far. The full moon was orange last night from the smoke.

I'm coming off the Gabapentin because the entire time I've been on it I've had an upset stomach. Had no problem with decreasing it at all - until I got down to 1 capsule every other day. That set off sleep that reminds me of benzo withdrawal. Weird thoughts, images, sounds, all while I'm in a kind-of twilight sleep, but not really sleeping. I call it a "hover sleep."

So, I suppose I'm decreasing too fast. I am going to go with 1 capsule every day for a while. Fingers crossed...I am not experiencing any unusual anxiety (that was my reason for being on Gabapentin).

I have a much-needed therapy session tomorrow. I've missed 7 sessions. I sure hope she doesn't cancel, as she sometimes does on Mondays. David and I have been arguing for weeks. No matter what I say, he takes it personally and gets defensive; he gets defensive, I get annoyed about his defensiveness, and around we go. He has to come over here tonight to take a shower (yes, his plumbing remains unrepaired). I wish he didn't, I'd prefer not to see him for a while longer. Ah, well.

I hope this question doesn’t offend you (because it’s about a dog) but when you’re tapering / withdrawing from gabapentin apart from the sleep do you have any other effects? Any discomfort? I’m just trying to take my dog off it at the moment and because she’s a dog she obviously can’t tell me so I’m trying to judge what’s best for her. I took some of the powder out of the 100mg capsule tonight to make it easier for her to come down off it (they don’t come in lower doses or in tablets here) but I don’t know what effect it’s having on her so don’t know how fast / slow to go and vets are always pretty much telling you to take them off things quickly and don’t take withdrawals into account.
