I really thought I checked in but now I’m thinking I did a short check in on a different thread by accident. It was just about how I’m sleeping well without seroquel now which I’m happy about.
But unfortunately the back pain is as bad as ever. I took off today, which I didn’t want to do in the second week of school. But my back was in such spasm I had to get my son to pick out a shirt for me to wear because they’re in the bottom drawer. I couldn’t bend or even sit down without extreme pain, and twice now I’ve woken up in the middle of the night in pain and had to move to the recliner to sleep.
So I went to the orthopedic urgent care this morning for an X-ray. The dr thinks since everything is ok there that I’m having muscle spasms from when I strained my back sleeping on those awful mattresses in IP. I believe that to be the case bc I wasn’t able to brace myself with extra blankets or pillows under my legs. And I was perfectly fine before IP stay #1. I also have slight scoliosis that I never knew about because it’s so slight the dr said nothing would have been done for it anyway. Not a serious problem but could explain why my hip hurts as well. I got naproxen, a specialist appt, and a script for PT.
I made an appt with a new pdoc but I’m not hopeful, she specializes more in anxiety and depression and I’m afraid my case might be too severe. But I’ll go and then check my insurance and schedule again with someone new if needed. I need to see someone before my meds run out so if I can at least get refills from this NP I’ll have more time to find someone else.
