"Telephone Line" is such a beautiful song.

Pink Floyd - they have a number of songs with that fascinating background talking. Much of it is in The Wall - the operator talking is from The Wall, the song Young Lust. They have the TV sounds in several songs, one of them is Wish You Were Here.

The operator at the end of Young Lust is the quintessential old-school operator. You can listen to it on YouTube.


[Phone rings..Clink of receiver being lifted]
"Hello..?"
"Yes, a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mr. Floyd.
Will you accept the charges from United States?"
[clunk! of phone being put down]
"Oh, he hung up! That's your residence, right? I wonder why he hung up?
Is there supposed to be someone else there besides your wife, sir, to answer?"
[Phone rings again...clunk of receiver being picked up]
"Hello?"
"This is United States calling, are we reaching...
[interrupted by phone being put down]
"See he keeps hanging up, and it's a man answering."
I can't open it on here but should be able to on my phone. It says "restricted video" here, probably due to the title and this is the library's laptop I have. It's due tomorrow.....

There's another song from the 80's with someone making a call. I never knew the name or artist! They are speaking in Spanish in some places. In one part, they say, after you hear a ringing phone, "Hello? Is Mr. _____ there?" "No, senor. No _______ is here." I've always liked the song. It sounds like he's saying is Mr. Donkey there, LOL.

It was a good song to dance to.
