It is ridiculous to label anyone "able or not able" to "stand up to a robber."
I worked the night shift 4 nights/week for fifteen years in an old, old indie cafe that was set off by itself and had absolutely no security of any kind. I was extremely fortunate because I was never robbed. I'm fairly tall, but when I worked there I was quite thin, and certainly not imposing. Well, a co-worker, he was a great, big buster of a guy. Tall and built. He was working a night shift when the cafe was robbed. He handed over the till, no problem. But the aszhole leaped over the counter and pistol-whipped my co-worker. He was about the sweetest guy ever. He was pretty beat up and off work fro some weeks.
Many years ago I worked as an outreach counselor for an organization that helped at-risk teens. My job was to go out with a partner at night and find homeless street kids and give them care packages, also give them instructions on how to properly disinfect syringes (AIDS was a major concern at that time). Anyway, it was the guys who were often targeted with threats and violence. A lot of people are threatened by men, so go defensive on them. We women, meh, the usual - stupid cat-calls.
So ya just never know.
