My dad also taught me to ride a bike...before he disclosed to my mom that he was leaving their 25 years marriage to marry another woman and the whole family, including my life, fell apart. I'm so sorry you had a rotten experience with your father, Scooter.
Oh, arcades were wild! And my mom bought a new TV was I was a teen and it had Pong on it. I loved it & got really good at it. Pong was kind-of calming, actually.
Yay for big hair! I was definitely guilty of that  MTV...what a massive change to the music industry, and wow, do I miss Blocbuster. Sadly, I, too, remember the space shuttle disaster. It happened on my husband's birthday, so it turned out to be a solemn day for us. And Reagan,  .
