It sounds like lots of fun where you live! I wish I had some kind of community events nearby. And you are definitely a great choice to take care of the decorations. Didn't you share some of your drawings in the past? I remember some posted here being very good. Wish I had such artistic talent.
I do remember those wax bottles filled with sugar liquid, though not so much as Halloween offerings in my area. When I was a kid in the 1970s, I think most of the common offerings involved chocolate. Mini Reese's pb cups, Almond Joys, Butterfingers, and things like that. Way back then I had a sensitivity to both chocolate and peanuts, so my mother didn't let me eat a lot of that stuff. My brother happily took some. Luckily I outgrew the sensitivity. It used to give me a rash. I think those wax bottles fit into the same category as the flavored powder in the straws, the sugar dots on the paper, and Pez. They also sold candy cigarettes back then. Pretty bad!
