From personal experience, I have driven on a spare tire until I had time to drive to the tire store & either get it fixed or replaced. I never call a repair or tow truck unless absolutely necessary. They are busy with many other calls. I had one tow truck come to my farm for my truck & before he got my truck loaded, he got a call from police dispatch about clearing a wreck off the highway. Seriously, my tow situation was not the priority the accident was. When we don't know what is behind the late with a repair or tow truck, it may be frustrating, but we need to use self-control to be understanding.
I blew a sidewall up at the barn early one morning I was planning on heading an hour away for once a year volunteer work I loved doing. My spare was rusted so it wasn't useable. I called my insurance towing & told them to send a tow truck that could load a 4x4 truck on it to haul it to my mechanic. I waited almost 4 hours for it to arrive. There went my volunteer day. Only plus was that I got to hang out with my horse for a lot longer than planned. Life happens & we make ourselves & others a lot less miserable when we learn to go with the flow on things we have no control over
