I absolutely love fruit, and there's sure plenty of it available here. There's a majestic big old fig tree near my apartment and my husband and I pick a bag full of figs every late summer.
At this time of year all the various persimmons come ripe. Apple persimmons are my favorite exotic fruit. Apple persimmons are quite different from regular persimmons, in that you can eat them (they're pretty crunchy) without getting that weird effect in your mouth (the tannin, as you might with a regular persimmon).
I like Buddha Hands; they can be eaten raw or used in baking. Pretty cool fruit. Here's an image, if you haven't seen one before:
