Oh, wow. I feel you with regard to the Seroquel. I take 25mg (12.5 if I can get away with it + melatonin or ZzzQuil) each night and I haven't had weight gain at the very low dose. I do have that (grrr) hangover effect. I hate it. Still working on how to handle it. For example, I had the hangover effect today, as usual. I allowed myself about an hour (maybe a bit more) after awakening to come into my body. Then I took a shower and made myself put my skates and my gear into the car, drove to the park, and had a terrific skate. By the time I came home I was tired, but "good" tired. The fuzzy hangover was gone.
I'm working with myself so I respect the need to awaken slowly, but then compel myself to get on my feet and move, shake it off.
