Hi -- Oh, yes, my X was exactly like that. It was difficult to extricate myself from the relationship 30 years ago -- and in my weakest moments, I mourn him as "my one true love."

I can't say that was true of the 15-year relationship that ended in '03, though. He was an unassuming guy, and I thought he was too dependent on me -- until he abandoned me.
