This morning, I mentioned to Hubby that a mild depression is setting in. I've been trying to deny it. The place we're temporarily living in has a lot going for it, in terms of rural beauty, but I think it's the wrong environment right now. Even more isolating. And we're not taking advantage of it in the way we should.
There continues to be a delay in the transfer of the property we're buying. It's all bureaucratic crap that's more the seller's issue than ours, but we are still affected. The owner asked us to come on Thursday to talk about "something". It's unsure what it will be. What I'll say is that we don't want to contribute to offering any bribe to the administrative officer(s). This is still not a rare practice here. Leftover from the communist days. We also don't want to have to pay the seller additional rent, which we've been doing in order to work on the place this past month. We didn't count on having to do so beyond last week, when the transfer was supposed to have happened. I think the latter may be negotiable.
Regardless of above, it's looking like we may not get into our own house until later than originally projected. Or, we have to move there while it's still spartan. I just looked and then told Hubby that the place we're in is booked by someone else starting the end of February. I'm almost glad so that we go somewhere else. If our upcoming place can be lived in in a spartan way then, we could shower at SIL's, if necessary. And eat lunch/dinner at pubs or SIL's. We'd rather not stay with her for too long. Hubby fights with her sometimes, and I hate being a long-term guest. Perhaps she'd rather we not, too. An alternative could be staying in Prague in a friend's apartment. She mostly lives in Germany, so at least it would be us only much of the time.

I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia.
