I know there is probably a better place to post this, but I don't really know where ( you can redirect me -- but my question isn't something I really feel the need to get a huge amount of responses from, so as long as it doesnt bug anyone I'll just post it here). I saw my Primary care doctor today and did some blood work and all that. She refilled some of my general prescriptions for me and wants me to try a new medicine for migraines calls Ubrelvy. I've never heard of it but she talked it up like it's a great drug. Just curious if anyone has tried it. She suggested it to me for two reasons -- 1) I prefer a drug for when a migraine hits rather than preventative measures because I already take so many daily meds AND lots of those drugs work on the same neurotransmitter receptors. 2) I do get migraines enough to warrant medicine but I wouldn't say I need something everyday to combat it. This drug in particular is special in that it can be taken up to four hours after a migraine starts and still be very effective (unlike other drugs like triptans [imitrex for example] that usually is much more effective at the first sign of a migraine. We'll see how it goes -- but here's to hoping I never have to use it! haha
