I appreciate the positive support on this thread. I must admit that this particular comment doesn't inspire much confidence in people's understanding of the situation. I think there were assumptions made in this reply, and I can't shake the feeling it was a bit "victim blame-y." Maybe this wasn't your intention, but wording things correctly is important so avoid confrontation and potentially hurt feelings. I'm not hurt by the comment but I did want to share my stance on it.
