My suggestion is that you ask for an easy prep. I asked for Mirilax and Gatorade and they did it. It is a less miserable prep because it tastes pretty good. The "expensive" preps that they give you have a lot of salt and I think it makes people sick.

I got a lot of good suggestions to make it easier over on the reddit colonoscopy board. I think the base directions are not helpful.

For me the prep was the worst part.

The procedure was easy. They gave me "sedation" but it didn't work. But as it turned out... it wasn't bad at all. I had a few moments of discomfort when they would go around a corner... but it wasn't bad at all.

I got to watch my colon on tv and I ended up having some polyps.

They made me stay for 15 minutes after the procedure because they seemed to think I was sedated but I was not.

I have to do it again this year and I will be less miserable about it.
