It comes down to who pays the bills, regarding whether you work or not. If someone financially supports you, and you don’t have to have a job, then you can choose to not have a job. Sometimes the supporting person enables you. Your parents may say they want you to work, but they keep paying your bills. It may also be a mixed message from the enabler where they are really wanting to keep you dependent on them.
