In for 21 days out for 7.So for me I made it so i always take it out on a sunday and put it in on a sunday at the same time.you forget about it and your period is only a few days and isn't gruesome. I don't know why all women don't use it. the first few days you have to adjust. if you feel like you are having a problem with it after a couple of weeks with nausea or something. quit taking it. nothing to lose, so why not try it? right? But it is like a pill, it won't work correctly if you are taking an antibiotic. hope this info helped
