I had to do battle with the medical system today to get the proper dosage of medication I was prescribed. My prescriber wasn't in and I needed a refill sent to the pharmacy. The dosage had been increased and I politely requested that the nurse listen to me, rather than rush through things so everything would work out correctly. Of course, she over talked me. And, of course, it was all mixed up and took the afternoon back and forth between 2 clinics and the pharmacy before the situation was straightened out.
If only that nurse had slowed down, listened to me, and paid attention from the very start it would have saved so many people time and annoyance.
Health care should be care, not a battleground.
