Yes, I've been where you are. And I sometimes fall back into old habits even now & have to remind myself what I learned. I had cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT.) It was a lot of work & disbelief in the beginning but it finally paid off & it started to work automatically. Maybe you can find a book on it, from the library maybe? And physical excercise can help, circulating oxygen & nutrients to your brain, if you're not already doing that? Good luck with your new therapist!
