Do you eat a certain food at New Year's?

Yes, and it comes from a Czech tradition. I named it "Lentils Herbs and Ham with an Egg Hat". It's basically a cooked lentil mixture using broth, herbs, veggies (i.e. onion and peppers), and smoked ham bits topped with a sunny-side up egg and more fresh herbs. Lentils represent fortune in the new year, plus it's a real soothing comfort food meal after a long celebratory night. Usually pickles and rolls are served on the side. And maybe a side garden salad. It's yummy! It could be eaten for any meal. I had it for the first time at about 3:00 am in a Czech restaurant on New Year's Day year 2000. It was the only thing most restaurants there served that early in the morning. Chaos did not ensue because of Y2K.
What is something you'll be happy to leave behind at the end of 2022?
