So sorry to hear you have an upcoming divorce.

I saw your other post asking for men's input... and whether you should get a lawyer.

I'd say it is worth consulting a good lawyer now to get a lay of the land and see whether there are any pitfalls to avoid.

There was a man I knew who after his divorce poured himself into taking good care of the kids, also developing hobbies and going to work... he slowly got back into the dating game via online dating, but (and I've done online dating) it's a hell hole... lots of people who are on the rebound or don't know what they want and more important who they are. Decent people can be found but it takes a thick skin and a lot of patience.

I wouldn't recommend online dating as you're so newly almost single and chances are you'll be swallowed up... that'll take away from your focus on the kids and getting your affairs in order.

Instead, i would focus on hobbies where you can have fun and meet people in low-pressure situations... also volunteering could be an option to meet people.
