OH MY GOSH ! Vertigo is horrible ! have you tried taking over the counter meclazine or dramamine or any sort of sea sickness relief pills? go to the drug store & talk to the pharmasist about what you going on & he will know a good over counter med to help you thru this...
the instant i feel it coming on i start popping them...
try to stay upright & keep your eyes epen... if you lay down & or shut your eyes its gonna make this all feel about 1000 times worse then the bed spins so no laying down unless its to go to sleep.
so as goofy as it seems is what helps me a bit is to keep my eyes open & keep doing busy work type things... sort thru paperwork, water the plants, play lazer tag games with the cats . play a game of solitiare just anything piddly silly easy type stuff .. dont do any thing real physical active hard work stuff like paint your bedroom or wash your car or clean your gutters out , or go for a run on treadmill type of things...
unless its a life or death type deal no driving a vehicle... ..
eat light stuff like cheese & crackers .. a sandwich.. toss a salad foods .. stay yourself hydrated .. water, tea, gingerale is wonderful .. id stay away from alcohol & coffee till the dizzies pass tho ....
it helps to start keeping notes about what you had to eat prior to when your dizzies start .. any odd activities you had done ... then you try pin pointing any triggers that start it and eliminate those & see if helps the dizzies stay away .
with all that said .. you gotta remember thats just me & how i deal with my dizzies .. is all ... because there are different reasons why people get the dizzies .... bed spins are different then sea sickness , sleeping with your neck kinked up, getting use to wearing a new prescribtion pair of bi focal glasses ..... ...
im not saying panic and go run to see a dr.. .. treat it like you would a head cold.. try a few simple "home remidies" .. take it easy, dont dwell on it...hang in there & this too shall pass ... .. .. if they start coming on one after another right away all the time then probably be wise to see a dr about it.. if its 24/7 for weeks on end .. see a dr ...
if this is your 1st bout with them like i said .. treat it like you a here today gone tomorrow case of being under the weather for a few days & go from there with it..
