It may be that your pdoc hasn't hit on the right med or even DX, it is possible the meds he or she has prescibed is not for your DX, there are so many mood stabilizers these days, and many work, when used as directed.
Then there are cases of misdiagnosis and improper meds for the DX. See if you can talk this over with your pdoc, if he or she is not willing to listen to what you have to say or ask in regards to your well being, then try to find a new pdoc. Just remember you CAN be helped, do not give up, it is hard, and frustrating I know, but once the right med is given, you'll see over time how much better you'll be, just takes time.
