P.S., @Mrtulip, I reread the first page of this thread & I think I can answer one of your questions. I think the person with ASD who is dealing with the difficulties & frustrations stays with it because their special interest feels fun or wonderful, so it's worth staying with. Maybe you haven't found an interest that's fun or wonderful enough, really special enough for you. Maybe you could kind of think with your heart & look for things you love. My special interests are things that I love. For example, I love birds, so I love to look at them & watch their cute behaviors, & I can walk around for hours where they are. All kinds of birds, near water, or in trees, in the air, etc.
