Helmut is a scaredy dog, but I do think that Bruni would step up if something happened. We live in a gated community surrounded mainly by vineyards and farms. There's a small agricultural business behind the house but we have a tall wall with razor wire, typical Latin American security measures. Due to the rising crime rate the administration is putting in a higher gate. We also have street cameras, so we are pretty well protected. There area a few nearby communities around here with no security, so I think they would be more attractive targets.


Where I used to live, I was very concerned. We lived in this area with a lot of dead end streets off the main avenue. Most had gates with an intercom. We had a gate, but few people closed it. A few times, I would close/lock it and five minutes later it was open again. The open gate was an invitation for all sorts of weirdos, unfortunately. Once a burglar or burglars cleaned out the house down the street in broad daylight. They must have brought a truck considering everything that was stolen. Even after that, our neighbors would keep the gate open. I had more than a few encounters with freaks that were walking around knocking on doors/gates. One guy told me that he was from the health service and needed to inspect my house. Obviously, I did not let him in! Here people try to use excuses to come into peoples' houses to scope them out and see what there is to steal.
