CBT was used extensively in one of the rehab programs I did and in the psych hospital I was in. I found it enormously useful to challenge my distorted thinking patterns. It's a lot of hard work though, but worth it in my opinion. CBT did more for me in a really short time frame than a lot of other therapy I've tried. I still find myself using the techniques I learned when my thinking starts to get negative.
