Hello,
I turned 60 this past June and trying to figure out where I fit in. I suppose loneliness and alone in thought brings me here. I try other support groups (on Zoom), started that during the pandemic and realized I have outgrown them, just with more life experience I guess and need groups that cater to older adults. For example I tried to participate in a Codependency group that caters to the LGBTQ crowd, had not been to the group in a year and a half and all new faces and people half my age and just couldn't relate based on having more life experience.
The support groups I joined during the pandemic were rather stimulating - I suppose as something new. Groups that dealt with codependency and gender dysphoria, Adult Children of Dysfunctional families and sex addiction and I know a lot of people come and go. A lot of things acting up in my time of lonely.

About three years ago one of my closest friends of the past 30 years passed away at age 81. On April 15 it will be two years since I lost my best friend (age 74). A former coworker and a digital penpal for 23 years. Then, one year ago I lost my sister, who we had grown very close to over the past several years. She was 61 and passed away from an "accidental drug overdose."
I take care of my mom part of the time here in Oregon. I have been married 20+ years but live 1,500 miles apart and is a complicated situation in itself. (you'll find me on the relationship/ communication (if there is such a thing) section. Been through a lot. If you're a senior surely you have been through even more. Be nice to hear others stories and why they are here. Thank you for reading!

First came to this website when it was PsychCentral back in 2013 - ten years ago, it was pretty active then, was getting support and recognize a name or two still here.
