Thanks... In my case, they were "nice" about it, though it doesn't make much difference. I'd almost prefer the keycard suddenly not working to getting that call from the division head plus HR. That was a unique feeling of dread, followed by shock when the dread was fully realized.
Anyhow, I got way too used to the healthcare and other benefits, so now it's a scramble to replace all that. I also worked there many years, so it's very uncertain and unfamiliar territory.
