I'm currently working on a Klonopin withdrawal, after having been on it for several decades. I started withdrawing from 2mg./day in October. This is the first week without my a.m. dose and it's going well. I will be leaving my p.m. dose of 1mg. alone for a while. In about a month I'll reduce the 1mg. to .75mg. And so on. But when I reach .5mg daily (p.m.) I will leave it there for a long time, probably 6 months. Then I'll start shaving off a tiny bit. I'll do that until I'm at about 2.5mg. From there, I'll see how it's going.
I have high hopes of being able to completely get off K-pin, but I have a long way to go. So I'm looking at about a year (at least) until I even reach the possibility of being benzo-free. I would very much like to do the Ashton Method, but good luck finding a prescriber who will agree to it.
With benzos it's that last bit that is the rough part. How long have you been on Valium?
