We lived in a co-op here with far below market rent and you just had to attend some meetings and commit 10 hours per month to co-op chores. It was fun and we would still be there but we were able to buy a place.

We don't have those where I live. I also cannot afford to move. I. have a lot of furniture, which requires moving costs, and I have no funds for that.
