Well blankety blank blank unmentionable insurance companies!!!! They put latuda on a different tier so my daughter can’t afford it. It would cost thousands per month. It was supposed to go generic a couple of years ago but the company paid off the generic companies to not make it. It was slated to come out this year but I’ve hears nothing yet.

So anyway my daughter was doing extremely well on it. Like me it’s her single miracle pill. They switched her and it’s been awful for weeks. This morning she called saying she wasn’t doing well. I went right over ( about 30 minutes away by interstate) the three of us talked. She wanted to go to the crisis center about an hour away but her insurance won’t cover that. So hubby and her went to ER.

ER at first said it might be days to get a bed, then 24hours. They said they had had someone in ER for 3 months waiting for a bed! But then they said, well she’s not violent!!!! We can get her a bed on the mood disorder unit! So she’s been admitted now.

By then it had started snowing. Huge wet horizontally blinding flakes. Most cars though had their lights on. And despite the speed demons on the road I made it home. But blankety blank blank insurance companies. This whole thing was so unnecessary. I hate to see my daughter suffering and so needless. I’m hoping they can get something worked out that she can go back on latuda. It’s been 10 years since she needed the hospital.
