@Samicat, I'm sorry to hear about your brother's cancer. Sadly, my brother also has cancer, if you hadn't read that before. Unfortunately, my brother is really fighting for his life and extreme chemo is making his life all the more miserable. Your brother sure is lucky if his cancer looks fairly easy to beat.

My dad is also in assisted living and was a narcissistic type person. He never really gossiped about me or my siblings, but everything was usually all about him. It's tough.

You know, congrats on paying off your mortgage. That's a major thing. Now you fully have a very secure good investment possesion. So many people don't.
