We went to our property today. There was indeed quite a bit of progress. The estimate of two or three weeks is likely a sure thing. Maybe even just the two weeks.

Unfortunately, the renovation manager informed us of a theft of our property there. There was an underground cable that someone pulled all the way from the ground and stole. It's not a very costly cable, but it was supposed to be underground. Now the replacement will need to be routed through the house's attic. Plus, who did it? The renovation manager thinks it might have been one of the workers. He talked to them about it, but of course no one fessed up and its hard to blame any one of them without evidence to do so. So, if it was a worker, they continue on the project. If it was an outsider, then the question is whether they were just an ordinary thief, or a disgruntled person from the village who doesn't like outsiders. If the latter, I worry they could also strike again. We'll be glad when we're there to have a hopefully preventative presence. So sad that this happened! We just can't get a break and so wanted to move there feeling good and hopeful about neighbors. Not suspicious.

We might just get a security setup because of the above. As a deterrent. At least most thieves in CZ aren't packing heat like so many in America.
