I’ve gotten those messages on my phone and not long after I purchased it, it said everything will be erased in 30 seconds!! I’ve heard of these things and they are getting more clever all time. One red flag is the sense of urgency. They are trying to steal your information by scaring you into responding quickly.

I’ve gotten, I think, every phishing scam out there whether it’s an email, text, or pop up window. Many are posing as a well known bank.

In a nutshell hackers aren’t tracking you but the scammers want you to think that. You’ll get a website that looks legitimate or clicking a link will install some kind of malware.

As if we didn’t have enough to worry about as it is, the way the world is.
