I guess the best advice I can come up with (probably not useful...) is pursue things one at a time. I would focus on gaining independence first, and a stable job. Then, once you have stability with your job, some savings, and are accustomed to living independently, I might start trying to branch out and build a social network. Finding nice people you click with and cultivating those relationships takes time. And only then would I think about finding a partner.
